Hello All. I know you all have been waiting to here from us. Not much finalized but details to come. As soon as they are finalized I will pass all I can on to you. I do however, have a sneak peek at the 2009 FRR Ride. It was here in the studio yesterday. Man is it looking TOUGH in it's flat black glory!!!! I'm loving it  I hate to admit it but those browns/golds or whatever just didn't get my heart racing. Can't wait to see the firesuit

Can't wait to see the firesuit Antie, You may not have seen the New Fire suit but Joe Nemechek sported it for the last few races of 2008. I was lucky enough to be the one to design it. I was happy with it and Barney really liked it enough to have inspired his decision on the flat black car paint scheme for 2009. Check it out. not to be rude or anything like that but is the new paint job suppose to make the car run faster? any news on who will drive the 78 car? . put some flames on the car to make it look meaner! it looks a little pale to me. anyways good luck in 09 i am interested to see what the season will be like.

I like the firesuit a lot  Good Job, the design on the back is eyecatching and would actually look good on the car vs flames. Everyone and their brother are doing flames. It's getting a little old and so copycat-ish. So what does the helmet look like? You know we, ok well ME can never get enough  Hope you had your hand in on that also. Kudos.

Thanks Antie, Lot of work went into it. I think I had close to 20 variations before we decided on this one. Sadly I did not get to do the helmet. Not sure what this years will look like yet. May depend on the final driver choice. They all have preferences on style, fit etc so who ever it will be has more impact on the helmet itself. |

so just curious if you have ever watched a race on tv especially now in the new tv era where only dale jr gets on tv?? black car black track you will get even less exposure now than before do you pay attention to what cars stand out???? red, yellow, now i know people will say dale seniors car was black and jeffs car is gonna be black (with bright orange flames) do you guys out there do any research before making some of your decisions??? just curious as we will see even less of the car at the back of the 35 car feild now totally rookie moves man at least you could see the white browns and oranges in the rare occurance you got some FACE TIME GOOD LUCK IN O9 oh and why are you going to phoenix you have stunk there forever your schedual is a little wierd understand the restrictor plate but sonoma are you kidding me?????? |

First of all, have you watched a race in the new tv era, Dale Jr does not get all the TV exposure, try Kyle Busch  Do you really believe it matters what color the car is for the announcers to give it attention, please, let's get realistic here, it's who their fave driver of the week is. Who NA$CAR wants to hype, get the fans hyped about, cause a rivalary between. The Ivory Tower wants to get $$$$, they do not care what the car looks like, the driver looks like or the firesuit. ESPN, TNT and ABC will follow the lead of NA$CAR and what they want plugged. FRR should follow what they want in their car, firesuit, etc, they are paying for it all. The flay balck car looks good, it's a different look from the past, it shows change and moving forward. It's not a copycat of other cars/drivers. It's simple and to the point, this is who we are. The firesuit does the same, it's not gaudy, it's simple, straight-forward and shows a company that is proud of what they do. You don't need to be flashy to be noticed, sometimes being lowkey is better. When you are flashy you try to draw attention to yourself saying I'm the best, I'm overconfident...it's hard to walk away when ya hit that wall. Just ask Kyle Busch when he got in the Chase. FRR is doing just fine, they have their head on their shoulders, do they need to be flashy? Let their driver do showing where they are and not the need for a flashy, showy car. Be less focused on "show" and more on performance. And where did you get the schedule? Also, do we have a firm committment on a driver yet? If Regan is the "new" driver, then how can you know that Cali is a terrible place for them to go to? 2009 maybe a entirely new experience for the fans and FRR. We need to wait until it's confirmed WHO the driver is.Have a good day

Hey guys. I'm really excited about Regan Smith driving the #78 this year, I've been a fan of his for a couple years now. I wish you luck and will be cheering you guys on down in Daytona. I have to say, though, that I'm disappointed in the paint scheme for this year... it looks like it's going to be the flat black/brown car? Anyway, I have a suggestion. Why not hold a contest for a paint scheme? There are tons of members of the sim racing painting community that would be more than happy to paint a car just to have it race on the track. Jeff Gordon and Pepsi had a similar deal where Gordon ran the car at Talladega in 2007. Even a contest for a one race deal would be cool - it would be nice to see some colors on the #78. Looking forward to see you guys on track this year, go Regan!

Sorry but you should go with gloss black. I saw the car on the Jayski site and thought it was the test car. Black was a good choice, it looks good on the Army car but not on the Furniture Row car. Good luck in 09! |

We would love to see what people come up with but I tell ya I am fighting to design it too. Barney himself wanted to do the flat black as well as the logo placements etc based on the fire suit I designed at the end of last season. |
