Salvaging The Finish
Furniture Row Racing returns from Richmond, VA. Salvaging a situation that could have ended in a DNF, the team finished the race in 39th position. General Manager, Joe Garone sheds light on the situation.

“The team was focused on qualifying, and that effort paid off. We were able to secure ourselves a 26th starting position in the race.”

Because this was an impound race, and all of our prior efforts were focused on qualifying set up, that ultimately hurt us during the race. In addition, problems with the fuel pump ended up costing us several laps. Kudos to the #78 team who were able to get the problems repaired, and we were able to finish the race opposed to a detrimental DNF.”

Darlington is next on the docket for the team. This will be the 5th Car of Tomorrow event, and the first at the egg-shaped 1.366-mile track. With the weight shifted to the right in the COT, avoiding a “Darlington stripe”- a black mark from scraping the outside wall- may be a bit trickier for Kenny this go around.
