Furniture Row Racing was back on the track last week at Richmond International Raceway. Driver Joe Nemechek qualified the #78 for the Colorado based team. With a 31h starting position on the grid, the team was ready to roll. Nemechek was running a solid race, however he ran into trouble on lap 132. General Manager, Joe Garone recaps the race, testing at Talladega, and Loudon.

“It was a pleasure working with Joe at RIR. We didn’t have the best practice speeds, but felt we could run a good qualifying lap. The majority of our practice was devoted to qualifying. Because this race was an impound format, we had to start the race with a qualifying set up in the car. We got behind at the start of the race, trying to adjust the chassis into our race set up. Unfortunately, we blew a right front tire before we were able to get the car to handle as it should. This resulted in a hard crash and it put us out of the race.

We’re testing at Talladega this week, and ended up19th quickest in the afternoon session on Monday. Then the team travels to Loudon where we hope to continue to grow our relationship with Joe, and look for our best finish of the year.”
