Smith Qualifies 28th in Las Vegas
Regan 2010LAS VEGAS (Feb. 26, 2010) -- Regan Smith will start 28th in Sunday's Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

In Friday's time trials, Smith's No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet toured the 1.5-mile oval in 29.254 seconds at 184.590 miles per hour.

"The lap was a little bumpy in Turns 1 and 2 and that cost us valuable time," said Smith. "We spent the majority of today's practice in race trim because it looks like tomorrow's practice sessions are going to get washed out. We still have some decisions to make about the race setup, and it would make it much easier if we got a practice session in tomorrow."

The pole winner was Kurt Busch (188.719 mph). Rounding out the top-five in order were: Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch.

Sunday's race will be televised on FOX, beginning with a prerace show at noon MT. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 1:16 p.m. MT.
